Can You Draw This Alien?

I discuss the following creature in my book The Science of Aliens.

This drawing is from Barlowe's Guide to Extraterrestrials by Barlow, Summers and Meacham (Workman Publishing) and should not be taken from this homepage for copyright reasons.

The Ixchel are creatures described in Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time. They are gentle, tall, and muscular, covered with short silky hair. Graceful tentacles extend from each of their four muscular arms; the tentacles act both as fingers and as speech organs. Head tentacles receive sounds and thoughts. They have no eyes. The Ixcehl live in great stone halls adorned with monumental carvings. They make glorious music with their tentacle voices.

If you can draw this creature, try the next one -- a Mesklinite . This one is even stranger.
