Summary of Recent Activities J. C. Sprott January 2008 Here's a summary of my main accomplishments over the past year: 1. Four papers published in refereed journals during 2007, six in press, and seven currently under review. One conference proceeding in press and one non-refereed journal article in press. 2. Invited talk on chaos for the AAPT Conference on Computational Physics in July 2007. Invitation to talk on chaos at Fordam University in April 2008 and at a Chaotic Modeling and Simulation International Conference in Crete in June 2008. 3. Advisory Board, Centre for Complexity Research, University of Liverpool, Editorial Boards of Nonlinear Dynamics, Psychology and Life Sciences, and Physics Academic Software. 4. Another year of co-organizing the Chaos and Complex Systems Seminar, now in its 14th year. 5. Plans well underway for the 25th season of The Wonders of Physics to a packed house, and production of the 25th video. A special presentation of The Wonders of Physics for an audience of 1500 in Cheyenne, WY in May 2007. 6. Web streaming of 25 videos of The Wonders of Physics. 7. Funding from DOE and NSF for a full-time outreach specialist (Rachael Lancor replacing Jim Reardon) to take The Wonders of Physics on the road and develop new avenues of physics outreach. 8. Continual upgrade and expansion of an extensive Website that includes vast amounts of material on plasmas, fusion, chaos, fractals, complex systems, and physics education, getting an average of about 250,000 accesses per week. 9. Plans underway to write a textbook "Elegant Chaos." 10. Plans underway to retire in August 2008 in order to devote more time to research and writing.
