Madison Scottish Country Dancers are offering a fun social dance class geared to children ages 7 and up. Experienced teachers will introduce children to the jigs, reels and strathspeys of Scotland, set to lively fiddle and piano tunes. Parents welcome (but not required) to participate. Cost is $25 per child for nine sessions, $10 for each additional family member. Led by Kate Deck with Janice Lacock and Norma Briggs--all experienced teachers.
- March 23-25, 2012. 35th Annual Ball Weekend. In honor of Norma and Michael Briggs. Memorial Union Great Hall. Music by O’er the Border (Mike Briggs, piano, and Dave Mullen, fiddle) with special guests Karen Zethmayr (violin) and David Zethmayr (cello). Friday night dinner (location TBA). Saturday walkthrough. Saturday night ball and party. Sunday morning potluck brunch.
